Tai Sui, or Grand Duke, is a heavenly general that assists the Jade Emperor in the well-being of the Mortal World. The Tai Sui alternates every year between 60 different heavenly generals. The Tai Sui for 2017 is General Tang Jie.

Each Chinese lunar year, certain Chinese Zodiac signs will clash or offend the Tai Sui. People with these signs are advised to appease the Tai Sui by praying and carrying special talisman or other auspicious objects in your bag, car, or beside you when you sleep.
